NEPHU has created posters, factsheets and social media collateral to increase community awareness about mpox and encourage all eligible people to seek vaccination.
Mpox is a viral infection that spreads through close physical skin-to-skin contact, including sex. Symptoms include rash, fever, chills, headache, and muscle aches. Although it’s rarely life-threatening, mpox can be painful, with symptoms lasting for several weeks, and can be severe in people who have other health conditions.
How can you protect yourself from mpox?
Early detection and vaccination are crucial to reduce the severity of the disease and to prevent its spread. Free vaccines are available in Victoria, even without a Medicare card. If anyone is experiencing symptoms, please contact a healthcare provider immediately. The latest list of vaccination services can be found via Better Health Channel.
Community Resource pack
Community and health organisations are encouraged to utilise and share the campaign materials through their channels and platforms. Let’s stay informed, get vaccinated, and seek timely medical advice to help control the mpox outbreak and protect our communities together.
If you have any questions regarding mpox or any of the campaign material, please email: [email protected]
