Victoria has recently experienced a measles outbreak with both local and overseas acquisition. This webinar provided information to support clinicians diagnose, test for and prevent measles. 

The second North Eastern Public Health Network – Health Protection Public Health Clinical Series webinar on Measles was held on 26 August 2025. 

Hosted by Dr Annaliese van Dieman (NEPHU Director), Dr Claire Gordon (NEPHU Medical Specialist and Infectious Diseases Physician), discusses how to diagnose, test and notify measles, how clinics can prepare for measles and how measles can be prevented. 

Part 1: What is measles?

  • Current epidemiology

 

Part 2: Preparing your clinic for measles

  • How to safely test for measles
  • Clinician notification requirements
  • What you need to do if a measles exposure occurs at your clinic

 

 

 

Part 3: Prevention of measles

  • Vaccination
  • Early detection and isolation
