The latest North Eastern Public Health Network – Health Protection Clinical Series webinar featured the topic ‘Towards elimination of Hepatitis B as a public health concern’.
Hosted by Dr Katherine Ong (NEPHU Senior Public Health Physician), the session included presentations from Professor Benjamin Cowie (Director, WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis at the Doherty Institute) and Dr Storm Holwill (Public Health Physician and Clinical Advisor, WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis at the Doherty Institute).
The webinar included presentations on topics including:
- An overview of the Victorian Hepatitis B Plan 2022-2030 and why we need it.
- How Victoria is tracking against the Victorian Hepatitis B Plan 2022-2030 and key areas to focus on
- The burden of Hepatitis B in North East Melbourne
- Opportunities for action in prevention, testing, linkage to care and long-term management of Hepatitis B in North East Melbourne.
